Q: Mine has an intermittent slight metallic whirring noise. Is that normal?

I've had mine for about a year and it has this unpleasant slight metallic whirring noise too. The other Coways, the 1215HHs that I have have some variance with noise levels but this is a different sort of noise. It's easy to hear on max speed, less so the middle speed, and not noticeable on the lowest speed, however if you put your ear right up to the right side of the unit where the treated air exits, you can hear it at any speed. It didn't do it when new. When new I was struck by how it had about half the volume level of the 1215HH on all levels, notably at max. But now I can't stand this 1216 on max anyway.

Q: Does this have a handle to pick it up and move it?

Yes it has a good “handle”; it’s at the back near the top, a big slot that your hand fits in, it makes it very easy to carry around your home and it’s not as heavy as it’s appearance would suggest. It’s an excellent design in many ways.

Q: Can you buy a prefilter replacement?

Unfortunately, we do not sell just prefilter yet.

Q: I can't figure out how to put this in auto mode that will make the fan go higher and lower depending on the air qua

under the fan speed, one of them is auto and says so. that will then work like you want it to.
