Review
------
Ghajni 2008 is a very good film seen on a silver screen after a
long time. The Film excells in production values with first rate
cinematography. The Film contains quite tense moments with a dose
of high octane violence and gore, but it does not repels the
cine-goers as these elements form a basis in this revenge flick.
The story line is not new but derived from some old films of the
west and bollywood has produced many films on similar lines.
However, the execution of subject is handled with utmost
perfection that leaves a viewer spell-bound during the
presentation at the cinema. The Film Ghajni showed Aamir Khans'
one of his carriers' best performance with a muscular touch which
is a delight to watch. I along with my friends had seen GHAJNI
three months after its original release (dec2008) in India. The
movie did a good bussiness as my friend owns a cinema hall in
Karachi-Pakistan and he was of the of the view that film
recovered its import cost in one go and in re-runs made two times
did a fairly good turnover. It was breeze of fresh air to see
people young and old visited at the four major cinemas where
Ghajni was released. This film could be stated at its best in
terms of music, cinematography and sound effects. For us what has
promted me / us to see it again was asin only. It is after a long
time a bollywood actress touched our hearts. THE FILM IS HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED FOR ALL WHO WISH SEE A GOOD ACTION THRILLER WITH A
DECENT ROMANCE FREE FROM VULGARITY OF ANY SORT. oN A SCALE OF ONE
TO 10 IT SHOULD MERIT 9.1/10---EXCELLENT ! --platform47.com
Aamir Khan is suffering from acute short-term memory loss set off
by being brutally beaten and witnessing the violent murder of his
girlfriend Asin. Any events and information over 15 minutes old
is deleted from his memory, but he vividly and clearly recalls
what happened till the moment he witnesses Asin's murder. He's
got to work around this handicap, but with methodical and
meticulous determination. Aamir etches a path of clues that lead
him on his path of revenge. To overcome his memory loss, he
carries around a sheaf of Polaroids and when he is really sure of
a piece of information, he has it tattooed on his body, which
stands in for the damaged part of his mind. His indelibly marked
torso is the repository of his grief, his rage and his reason to
go on living.
To sum up, Ghajini is commercial Hindi cinema at its best. The
film has 'Hit' written all over it. --platform47.com
Ghajini is an Aamir khan film all the way.Aamir delivers his
career-best performance. In the first place, it requires courage
and maturity to name the film after the villain. Knowing how
egoistic our stars are, something like this is next to impossible
in Hindi films. A lot has been said and written about the GHAJINI
look -- Aamir's hairstyle and his dream physique. It's
awe-inspiring and if more and more people adopt the 'Aamir look'
or hit the gym, it would be courtesy the actor.
As far as his acting is concerned, he's natural as the tycoon,
but like a wounded, ferocious tiger when he goes on an avenging
spree. Without doubt, it's a concentrated, layered performance.
He acts with his entire being. His body movement, the details of
his performance, everything rings true. He is both vulnerable and
hard. The pain in his face when he can't remember, is palpable.
It's not only the plot that carries GHAJINI. It's also the mood
and the expression on Aamir's face that makes GHAJINI a treat.

About the Actor
---------------
Aamir was first introduced as a child artiste in the 1970's hit
Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) -- he was the youngest child in the
trio. He 'quit' movies and went on to become the state tennis
champion for Mahatra. Aamir also fell in love with the girl
next door in the meantime. He proposed to her the day he turned
21, and she accepted. But apparently, there was sition since
she was from a Hindu family and he, from a devout Islamic one.
So, they eloped, got married and returned to their homes. Aamir's
wife Reena even appears in the song "Papa Kehte Hain" that made
him the darling of the nation. From the tremendous success of
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which was released when he was 23,
he has blossomed into India's finest actor. His list of sterling
performances include Dil (1990), _Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1990)_,
_Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992)_, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993),
Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Rangeela (1995), Raja Hindustani (1996),
Ishq (1997), Ghulam (1998) and Sarfarosh (1999).
