Q: Can this be used with hulls still on the nuts?

Wait till nuts fall from the tree. Green hulls are tough. brown dry hulls fall off more easily and nut cracker is not for removing hulls.

Q: Does this work easily for macademia nuts. My neighbor has a tree and shares them with me so wanted to give as gift. The hand cracker hurts my hand.

this is why i bought the cracker. my daughter has a macademia tree. like all things you have to get used to it but it does a great job. you have to mount it on a board though. nuts are expensive because of hardness.

Q: Where is this unit manufactured?

i don't remember. i gave this to my daughter who has a giant macadamia nut tree in her back yard. that tree puts out bushels of nuts. this nutcracker splits them with no problem. one of the reasons macadamia nuts are so expensive is how hard they are to shell. this does the job.

Q: Will this work on butternuts?

it will work on just about any appropriate size nut. if it can crack macadamia nuts it will do a butter nut.
