Good support for torn ligaments and getting back to training
This seemed too tight when I first got it but my knee was still swollen from ACL and MCL tear... once MCL had recovered and it had all calmed down a bit, this support was really helpful in providing the support I needed to start training again. If I was looking for general support for running or sport, rather than having an actual knee injury, I would look at a less restrictive support.Being fairly tight, it provided good support, confidence and has not lost elasticity over time. I don't wear it when just walking around - had another support with more strapping for that which was more comfortable. I just wore it when training or working and need something that was going to hold up under more pressure. Don't need it now as have reached a better stage of recovery but this was v helpful at the time. It has the flexible metal down the sides that you will really need if you have bust your knee up. It was a bit tight around the knee hole though so that's why I'm not giving 5 stars - but all bodies being different, it would be hard to get perfect. I got small which worked well on my skinny lady legs! Expect that size would be good for kids too but not for men or regular size women (I have a small frame).

RICE
Now I'm not a spring chicken any more but still like to be very active, walking, gardening and horse riding, as well as yoga, I can sometimes trigger off aches and pains in my back, hips, shoulder - and the latest addition is my left knee right on the outside of the knee cap. I was advised that these kind of pains are best treated by RICE - ie rest, ice, compression and elevation. This knee support is the perfect way of providing a bit of compression as well as support, during the days I am working to get rid of the pain. What I really like about it, is that I can wear it under work trousers and no one has a clue I'm wearing it. The cut out means you can bend the knee easily and it's washable. This is a really well thought out support, in these days when hospitals and surgeries are cutting back it seems sensible to find solutions yourself to what are sometimes just side effects of getting old. My knee is 14" around the widest part and this seems a good fit, I imagine with washing it may loosen slightly.

Moderate lateral stabilisation for knee sprains, strains, arthritis and swelling
FUTURO 46163EN Stabilising Knee Support=== OVERALL ===If your doctor or physiotherapist has recommended that you wear an elasticated support to provide stabilisation for your knee, this is a good quality option. I had surgery on my right knee a decade ago and it can collapse sideways due to weak ligaments in the knee. Of course the best protection against lateral movement for me would be to return to diligently carrying out the exercises the physio gave me all those years ago but, in the absence of that, this product provides useful support when out and about and is light enough to wear under leggings, loose trousers or a skirt.Make sure you measure your knee using the dimensions marked on the packaging (shown in the online listing) so you get the right size.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Quality supportive elasticated fabric that is well-stitched and finished at all edges* Open at the kneecap to keep the patella in place* Provides good lateral (sideways) support for my knee with sturdy panels at each side* Comfortable to bend (though there will always be some bunching of fabric behind the knee with any support worn over the knee)* Made from breathable, washable material===NIGGLES ===* I'm not that keen on the beige, though black is a bit sinister; how about a nice dark navy that won't go a skuddy colour over time like beige can but isn't as harsh as black?* Must be slipped on over the foot and is not adjustable once on* I have quite big calves so the support cuts in a bit (I might need the next size up)For sale at the time of writing this review at £22.99.

good support but be aware of the joint swelling
I have a form of degenerative bone disease that first attacked the rib and spine and it has travelled down to the hips, knees and ankles. It has also gone up the body to the shoulders, it is now affected the elbows, wrists and is effecting my ability to grip.My knees are in a bad way. It is agony to stand and walk - my right knee doesn't straighten and my left knee really doesn't want to bend. It was my left knee that I used this on (after asking the advice of the physio) to give the knee extra support and hopefully reduce the speed at which the damage from over stressing the joint has caused.I would recommend that you consider a size bigger if your joint swells as it can become uncomfortable, very tight and almost impossible to remove. It took me a while to get use to wearing it but the support for the knee seems quite good and the physio says it should help when I stand and walk.Overall it is a good knee brace, though I need to remove it half way through the day so that the knee doesn't swell tight within the strapping.
