Great as usual. Turns off either way. That is important and convenient.

Excellent Hose Nozzle.
I had been fed up with the trigger type of spray gun having owned quite a few which are fine initially but fail in one way or another after months or a year of use so I started looking for something better. I saw this type of nozzle on a car detailing video and liked the robust look of it together with the adjustable spray pattern so I looked around for a supplier and found it on Amazon. The reviews were generally good especially the stainless version so that is what I decided to buy. There are two potential issues for the UK user:1) The manufacturer recommends a 5/8" bore hose - this is not a common hose size in the UK, 1/2" being the standard domestic size with 3/4" and above for commercial and industrial applications. My hose is 1/2" and it works fine with that. Having said that our water pressure is 65 psi which is fairly healthy and I do not use Hozelock type fittings preferring the Geka ones because they don't leak and do not have self sealing couplings which create a significant pressure drop and thus reduce the flow.2) The female thread is 3/4" Garden Hose Thread (GHT) or National Hose Thread (NHT) to suit the American market's 5/8" hoses. I knew this before I bought it and was sure that I could find a fitting or reducing nipple that would enable me to use the more common British Standard Pipe (BSP) threads. The manufacturer did not provide a clear answer to the simple question "what is the thread form and what is the size", instead they said a 5/8" hose will fit. When I said that we do not have that size hose in the UK but if you can answer my questions I can sort something out, the assistant simply copied and pasted some information about the garden hose thread that I had seen on the internet. I decided to wait until it arrived and sort it out then. The thread is a female 3/4" - 11.5 threads per inch garden hose thread. Other people have used a 3/4" BSP fitting on this with plenty of PTFE tape to create a seal but being a retired mechanical engineer I know that this is not a good solution so I searched for the correct one. As luck would have it I had a reducing nipple from GHT to BSP and it worked but I did get first rate service from GEKA (Karasto) in Germany who not only have the correct 3/4" GHT fitting (not in their online catalogue) but they sent me one free of charge - excellent.I am delighted with this nozzle now that I have it connected up correctly. As for durability only time will tell if it is significantly better than cheaper trigger type guns. Some people would say just buy 3 or 4 cheaper guns but I find that using cheap stuff is not pleasurable. As an aside, on my other hosepipe I have a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) trigger gun, probably made by Geka, that is rubber covered and thoroughly robust. It seems to work perfectly apart from the fact that control of the spray pattern depends on keeping constant pressure on the trigger which is not always easy.

Worth the price
This is the third hose nozzle I purchased this year. I was looking for something that could provide a range of "spray" types from a gentle gurgle to water potted plants, to a dousing shower to water my lawn. I first tried a smaller brass twist-type nozzle. It couldn't do either of those things. Replaced it with a classic-style trigger-squeeze nozzle with multiple settings. The trigger-style nozzle works well, has a "flood" mode for watering plants, but the volume/flow of water on the shower setting (and the other settings) was insufficient for watering grass--it would take forever. Enter the Bon-Aire. I read about this specific nozzle on a "top 10" list online. My first thought was "Wow, that's a lot of money to spend on a garden hose nozzle". But I'm glad I did. This thing is GREAT. It's a twist-type "firehose" design. A gentle twist creates a gentle gurgling flow, perfect for close-up watering of sensitive plants (perfect for potted plants). Twist some more and you get a shower pattern that puts out significant volume. Watering my grass takes no time. Twist more and you enter the high-pressure spray realm of this nozzle. I haven't used that feature but I imagine it would be great for blasting dirt off of your car, driveway, etc. This nozzle does require a bit of finesse to gently twist to find the setting you need - not as simple as rotating a disk to a preset pattern like on the trigger-type nozzles. But for me, this is perfect. Also, the nozzle is heavy-duty and heavy (literally). I've only had it a short time, but it seems very robust.

Best hose Nozzle out there. (Stainless steel)
I'm buying another Bon-Aire (Stainless steel) nozzle for my front yard hose. I have had one for 10 years on my backyard hose. This is a great hose nozzle, and I am impressed how well it has stood up over time. Even after 10 years of daily use, even through the boiling heat, and frosty mornings of the inland San Diego Valley. I use it for washing cars, watering plants, washing horses and dogs, etc. My backyard hose is on full street water pressure and still this nozzle has stood the test of time. It stays on the hose all the time, in the sun. My horse even chomped on it and stepped on it, and it still worked. Not often do I see a really well made products like this. But this one should get some kind of award. The O-rings inside need to be replaced every 5 years or so, with a kit supplied buy Bon-Aire. When the nozzle starts getting hard to turn, just replace the O-rings and it is good as new. I like having yard equipment that is designed well enough to fix, not just replace all the time.Note about the aluminum version:I did buy the Bon Aire aluminum version several years ago to save money, but a freeze expanded the inside and broke the plastic parts inside. I only recommend the Stainless Steel version for that reason, especially if you live in extreme weather.

Great Product!
This hose nozzle is so easy to use and doesn't leak. Has pressure when you need it and softer flow for plants as well. I loved it so much, I give it as gifts to my clients. I recommend.

Leaks, rusts, o-ring dislodged, wont shut off. After 4 years. Not worth the super high price
Leaks, rusts, o-ring dislodged, wont shut off. After 4 years. I Have taken it apart and used plumbing silicone grrease to keep it going. Why do I know its poop, because I bought the original BonAire nozzle 25 years ago at Costco, made in the USA and it still works perfect, no rust no leaks, a great product. Not so for the import one. I should cost 20 bucks tops. Buy a cheaper one, they are all made in China and have a short life.
