This is a really good product and my first impression was quite positive
This is a really good product and my first impression was quite positive. I have this set up in a communication closet that is roughly 25 ft away from the TV. I am using an xbox 360 that connects to the transmitter and that hooks to the receiver over Cat5. The receiver is then connected to my LG TV. This setup is really nice to be able to hide wires. I wish there was a way to disable the indicator light after connecting...black tape works fine thought :) After watching a few movies I noticed that the screen would cut in and out briefly. This isn't much of a problem since it was less than 1 second most times but online gaming would be kind of an inconvenience to have the screen go black for a second here and there. I think the problem is with the Cat5 line I ran. Would have liked to run Cat6 but regretfully I didn't. If the screen cuts out, a simple reset helps reconnect the transmitter/receiver. All in all I really like this product and think it works well in most settings.

100% worth it! [3 year update]
I've been using a pair of these daily for over 2 years now and I'm genuinely impressed. For the price I expected them to break or malfunction after a few months but they've been rock solid. I've only had to powerecycle them maybe twice in that time. Receiver unit resides in a non-insulated room that ranges from -10F to 105F through the seasons.I'm using a 1080P source (satellite receiver) to an HDMI splitter, to this HDMI-ethernet unit, 150ft CAT5e, to the receiver on a 720P TV.UPDATE: Been using it just over 3 years now. I thought the transmitter had finally died but it just needed a new external power adapter (5VDC). I had an extra on hand, plugged it in, and we're back in business.

Dead on Arrival
Unfortunately this didn't work with multiple HDMI sources to multiple HDMI displays. I tried a cat 6 and 2 different cat 5e cables all shorter than 100'. All 3 cables were working I can connect them to other devices. This product took longer than I expected to arrive which put me in a lurch when it arrived and wasn't working. I ended up having to create a work around for my event that was not optimal... If this worked It would have been a very good solution for me. I don't know if its due to compatibility with my devices or just a failed unit but I ended up having to purchase a much more expensive version of this solution locally. Unfortunately we don't have a Microcenter or something with good pricing nearby and ended up paying almost 4x as much for a working alternative product.

Super simple - hdmi quality - love them
These are great! Not sure why others had any issues. They are very clearly marked Input (on one) and output (on the other).I am running an hdmi monitor out from my Marantz receiver straight to hdmi extender. Then via cat5 Ethernet to an outdoor tv. The Ethernet was there when I bought the house so I wanted to find a solution that could use that. Zero issue with latency or video quality loss. I can see both TVs (one through a window) and they looked perfectly in sync pushing 1080p video. Now I know most people won't have a dual hdmi output receiver (they are for the harder core audiophiles). But these hdmi extenders would work well with any cable box, DVD/BD/4K player. I'm still surprised at how simple they are to use.

Very Good Product for the Price
After reading many of the reviews positive and negative, I found these extenders to work perfectly. I used a previously installed 75' run of cat5 cable that has been there for at least 7 years. Hook-up was very simple and right away I got perfect video and audio in 1080I. That's all I can ask for since my Fios DVR only supports up to 1080I.I have had them running for about 24 hrs now and everything is working perfectly. I would recommend this product.

multi product comparason review
This is the review to read and ponder: After failure and frustration trying to get a 50' HDMI run to my garage, I ordered 2 sets of Ethernet cables (and I had some others). I also ordered 4 different HDMI over Ethernet interface sets, tested all the combinations then returned what didn't work (Amazon Prime is the developers friend!). My source was PC HDMI out to a 1 in, 2 out powered splitter (the other output goes to my home theater amplifier). The signal was 1080p with 6 channel audio (I did not test 3D or 4K, sorry) and I used several different monitors.First: all 4 interface kits worked fine, audio and video, when the Ethernet run was short, 2' (I used 2 2' Cat 5 cables for the Balrun kit (4) and one 2' Cat 5 cable for the other 3 kits). When I set up a 30' Cat 5 run (I only tested the 3 single cable interface sets), the Expert Connect (6) kit did not work and both the J-tech (3) and the HongNing (5) kits did work (although the HongNing cut periodically).Next test setup was the dual 50' unshielded Mediabridge ethernet cables (2) (I used only one of these for the 3 single cable interface kits). The dual cable unpowered Balrun (4) passed neither audio nor video and neither did the Expert Connect kit(6) nor the HongNing kit (5). The J-Tech kit (3) worked for 20 seconds then died then came back for another 20 seconds and died, etc).Lastly I tested with one 75' shielded Cat 6A cable (1) and this is where I got some satisfaction. The Expert Connect (6) still did not work but both the J-Tech and the HongNing kits worked perfectly, 6 channel audio and video. Apparently there is magic goodness in the Cat 6A shielded cable design. I would up keeping the J-Tech (5) and the shielded Cat 6A cable (1) and sent everything else back. I now have a perfect and reliable monitor in the garage (FYI: a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse reaches to the garage just fine).1 Aurum Cables High Performance Cat6a Snagless Shielded SSTP/SFTP Ethernet Patch Cable - Black - 75 Feethttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018RE2TUO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=12 Mediabridge Ethernet Cable (50 Feet) - Supports Cat6 / Cat5e / Cat5 Standards, 550MHz, 10Gbps - RJ45 Computer Networking Cord (Part# 31-399-50B )https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001W26TIW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=13 J-Tech Digital Hdmi Extender By Single Cat 5E/6/7 (The Latest & The Best) Ver 1.3 Certified For Full Hd 1080P (powered on both ends, works great)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G5RBX2Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=14 HDMI Extender Over RJ45 CAT5e CAT6 Cable UTP LAN Ethernet Balun Extender Repeater Cable-1080P 3D-30m (unpowered, 2 cables)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HHTLV40/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=15 HongNing Digital 60M HDMI Extender Over Single by Cat 5E/6 with TCP/IP Support (up to 196 feet)https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072TYL899/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=16 Expert Connect | HDMI Extender Over Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat7 Ethernet Cable Up to 330 Feet ( 200 Feet Ethernet Cable + 130 Feet HDMI Cable ), 1080p, 3Dhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018WS7TIC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=19/1/2018 followup: this 75' run from my house to my detached garage shop with the 2 J-Tech and the shielded CAT6 HDMI cable which is strung at rooftop height between the 2 buildings as-is has lasted through one complete Denver year (it get's pretty cold here sometimes, several ice storms last winter, and pretty nasty hot here sometimes - sometimes humid, mostly dry). Both the cable and the J-Tech interfaces have been frequently used and still work perfectly, zero failures.
