Probably like many of you, I’ve been searching for the perfect water bottle for a couple of decades now. Every time I think I’ve found one, a glaring defect emerges. It leaks, it doesn’t hold enough, the opening is inconvenient, it’s too wide for the cup holder, etc. etc. etc. I began to think I was searching for a unicorn, something that doesn’t exist in my reality.And then Prime Day came along. I wasn’t planning to buy anything, but I browsed anyway. And there, among the rest, was the Simple Modern Summit water bottle. Eighteen bucks normally, and even cheaper on Prime Day? Eh, I’ll give it a go. The worst that could happen is that it’ll end up in the cupboard I call Graveyard of Disappointing Water Bottles, like all the rest.I chose the 22oz, which is the largest capacity that will still fit into my Toyota Corolla’s slightly-too-narrow cup holders. It’s actually a really good size, as it’s enough water for a few hours out and about, without being too heavy to carry comfortably in one hand.The double insulation is extremely effective: it’ll keep fridge-cold water cold for 24 hours in a car sitting in direct sun during a ridiculous heat wave. Maybe even longer, but I ended my test at the 24-hour mark, because let’s not get ridiculous. I also often have tea in it, which will stay hot—very hot—for many hours, including overnight. Be careful with hot beverages: I leave the lid off for ten or so minutes to let it cool enough that I won’t burn my tongue (again) before closing it up.I like the different lids that come with it, including the chug lid you can get from the company for only the cost of shipping. Unfortunately, there were no lid colors other than black available when I ordered, but whatever.I did get a bottle washer (I chose OXO’s water bottle washing kit, which is cheap and comes with three pieces for all the parts of the bottle), because it’s almost impossible to effectively clean it otherwise. The bottle body is NOT dishwasher safe, though the lids are.Okay, I’ve rambled long enough. In closing, I’ll say that, not only is this bottle The One, I appreciate it so much that I bought a second for myself in blue and recommended it to several people. All this, and I’ve only had it for less than a month!As always, I’ll update if my opinion changes, or it suddenly explodes on me.~~~~~~Update after seven months~~~~~~Amazon sent me an email about this review, so I thought I’d update my thoughts.I still use one or both of my bottles daily, and I’m still super happy with them. In fact, I was extolling the virtues of the bottles to a friend just yesterday.One of my chug lids broke, but I had a tendancy to hold it at its weakest point, so I’ll count that against both me and the lid.Other than that, everything is still great.~~~~~update after over two years (December 2020)~~~~These bottles are still The One (cue Shania Twain earworm for fellow GenXers)! I’ve dropped each a few times, so they no longer look pristine, but they still work exactly the same. I still recommend them to anyone looking for a water bottle or travel mug, and the wide variety of available colors mean you don’t have to be boring.Still five stars!

It's vacuum insulation is astonishing... but it becomes useless if the lids are not well designed.The 22 oz version comes along with a stainless steel lid and a flip lid. The stainless steel lid provides vacuum insulation and is leak proof, both of which are great BUT when it comes to usability it fails: the hole for drinking is too wide, so forget about drinking while on the move if you don't want to splash water all over.The flip lid solves that problem, the drinking hole is small so you can drink while on the bus or walking BUT it's not vacuum insulated nor leak proof, so forget about cold drinks (the lid sweats A LOT) or putting the bottle in your bag (it will leak).What's worse, I contacted Simple Modern about this and they just replied the do have a lid that is vacuum insulated, leak proof and has a small hole for drinking, so I could proceed and buy it. To be fair, they gave me a coupon so the lid would be free when buying from their webpage BUT I would have to pay for the shipping. I don't live on the US, and every buy I make comes with extra taxes. I decided not to buy the extra lid, cause I think that when you buy a product, that's it, you shouldn't have to pay extra in order to rectify deficiencys.

I wasn't going to review this yet as I wanted a few more times out, but I got asked to review. I have tried to use this daily since I received it. I will start with the pros.ProGreat looking and feeling. I was impressed when I opened the box it looked and felt great.Not heavy when filled with water and a little ice.Comes with 2 tops.ConsThis thing leaks. Do not throw it into a bag unless you want wet clothes.This is my biggest one. I wanted a bottle I can carry when on the track, it came with an extra top with a carrying loop. It seemed big enough to carry even with large hands but other then the very very center of the loop it is very very sharp and uncomfortable to carry unless you use one finger and that also makes it uncomfortable to carry this was one of my #1 problems and is unforgivable as it is possible for someone to get hurt.The top with the carry handle also does not allow much water to flow at all so it was much harder to stay hydrated because of that.Did I mention it leaks.I really do wish this had been better it was a mid priced option and it looked and felt great but I find myself going to buy a bottle of water out of the vending machine instead of using it each time which increased my overall cost and I had to break my workout routine more then once.

I ordered 2 of the small ones for my 6 and 9 year old and a larger for my teen. We live in Honolulu and there is no AC in the schools so it gets quite hot. I needed something to keep their water cold all day. After buying cups from a local box store that claimed to keep drinks cold for 16+ hours and failed miserably I ordered these. My kids are so happy! They filled these with ice and water at 7am and when they came home at 3pm the cups were still over 1/2 full of whole pieces of ice. Keep in mind with the smaller cups they are refilling 2-3+ times a day. My oldest still had almost the same ice she left with. This was all day in 80+ degree temps. The small water bottles are the perfect size for little hands. So far I'm extremely happy with this purchase. My only negative is I wish they made a flip straw option for the lids.

I had been looking for a flask or travel mug for a while that kept my tea hot for a reasonable amount of time, that wasn't super expensive or ridiculously cheap. And I'm not joking when I said I was looking for a while.Then I came across this bad boy. I love the fact that it comes with two lids so that I can change it depending on when I use it. I use the stainless steel lid if it is going to be in my bag, zero leakage. And the other lid when I am in class or the office so I can drink it easily.When I go walking I fill it with tea, on a usual walk I am out in the hills for up to six hours and the temperatures are often very low, in the minuses. The tea is still hot after the walk.This is the best flask I have ever bought and such a good price too. Only complaint might be it keeps my tea too hot, but that's going too far!I've reccomended this to everyone I know!

This definitely lives up to expectations and is a sturdy well-constructed water bottle/flask. I bought it particularly for carrying water in summer as I find that water warms up within 30 minutes when buying it contained in a standard water bottle. This is the solution! I tried and tested it. I put fridge temperature water into the Summit Water Bottle in the evening and the following morning it still retained its cold temperature. No water leaked which is essential as I intend to carry it inside my backpack everyday.On the downside, and this shouldn't take anything away from what is a great product, I opted for the 650ml size and it is larger that a standard water bottle of that quantity, but that is expected given that it's a flask too. The size is also due to its construction - you can rest assured that it wont break easily or get damaged with wear, tear and drops etc.It's a must have item - especially for summer.

when i first received this, it was slightly leaking. Much to my delight, the customer service of this company is amazing and the problem was resolved. I was going to send it back but now use this for travel (as i just keep it upright in a backpack) and it does what is says on the tin. Keeps water cold for the longest time (i filled it up with ice at a starbucks at heathrow and once i got to my destination 7 hours later, the ice had not melted!!!). i love it. Thanks Simple Modern for being such a great company.Now i just want to know how i can get another lid for it!

Good quality water bottle. Doesn't keep drinks cold/cool for as long as some others, but for a few hours it does the job. I tend to keep it in the fridge, so it's extra chilled. I haven't used the sip lid, only the silver one, as I like to use the adjoining strap as a carry handle. Really nice matt blue colour. Has a nice wide neck, so filling and cleaning is very easy, and the bottle is just the right diameter to hold comfortably. As far as I know it doesn't leak - I say this as I only use it at home, so it's always kept upright. Comes boxed, so would make a great gift. In hindsight, I just wish I'd purchased the slightly larger version.

These are very high quality water bottles. Easy to carry and handle and do as they promise, they do not get condensation from outside. Do not get hot or cold from outside. Keeps the liquid at their storage temperature for more than one day. The surface texture is premium and both my kids love to take their water bottles to school. Very easy to clean.
