way better then the second
I hated the second one, I skipped the whole entire middle portion of it, and then a few montha later, I tried to read it again at school, but I read ten or so pages of it, put it down and said, I can't read this anymore. I had a great time reading this one, it was exciting, and a great edition to the series. You should know that you are going to buy a book for teenage girls before you leven buy it, so I don't get you people complaining that it was a teeny boper book. FYI the other two books were for teens, so why should this one be any different. Common sense. Ever and Damen, are separated by curse, after Ever went back in time to save Damen, and Roman tricked Ever into adding her own blood to the cure for Damen's illness. Now they can't touch at all, becuase any bodily fluids fluids from ever that get onto Damens will automatically kill him. And after Ever got the twins to help her by coming out of Summer land, the place between life and death, they forget how to use their powers. So Damon takes them in, and tries to help them figure out their powers again. And Jude, Ever's new boss, the one with and ancient and powerful book in his care. Ever is feeling all of these feeling that she only wants to feel for Damon, about him. I personally loved this book, and thought that it was the best in the series. I realize this is a very vauge discription, and kind of small, but if I say much more it would give the ending away, so go read it!

shadowland
I would recommend this book to all ages. As a matter of fact, I would recommend the entire series. It keeps you wondering what will ever happen between Damien and Ever, Romy and Rayne and finally Roman. I liked the book because there are no fancy words added just plain language to keep the reader entertained. The series has a little of everything in it, romance, love, betrayal, terror and a little bit about morality. Shadowland itself is mostly about finding an antidote to help Damien, but much more happens. I can't seem to put the book down, any of them!Ordering thru Amazon.com is the most efficient way of buying books. They are quick in the turn around, books get to me in less then a week and prices are incredibly low!It is safe. I have been extremely impressed with Amazon.com each time I order from them. If I order a used book for $3.99, the book comes to me in brand new shape!! I recommend all book buyers try Amazon.com!!!

Highly Recommended!
I am a huge fan of vampire/immortal related books and was VERY happy with this series! I was absolutely hooked on "The Immortals" series and couldn't put the books down - I had a week of very little sleep for a week reading this series as I had to see what happened next! There is romance and suspense. I am a huge fan of the Twilight series and Vampire Diaries books and didn't think I could like any other vampire books as much as I like those but was wrong....out of the dozens of books about vampires/immortals I have read, this is one of my absolute favorites. I highly recommend this series!

Finally Getting Somewhere
By far the best book of the series so far. I gave book one three stars and book two I gave two stars because they just weren't hitting the marks for me as a reader (check my reviews for the reasons why). Here's what I liked and why this book stands out more than its predecessors:The introduction of Jude who, as supporting cast goes, is by far the best character in the series. Let me explain why: I can see who he is. He's an actual person, not the vanilla offering of Ms. Noel in the form of Roman or Drina (boilerplate bad guys); Miles or Haven (the buddies - more on that below). Jude has dimension and, in my estimation, is the saving grace for this novel. The introduction of this character and the plot that comes along with him makes for a more interesting, more dynamic story.Yes, there are still many parallels to Twilight, but thankfully not as many this go-round. Though one could argue that Jude and Jacob are fairly similar and there is no denying the story arc similarities (Roman's creation of an immortal army is far too similar to Victoria's vampire army in Eclipse). However, Jude and Jacob do differ and I appreciate that the story lines seem to be diverging slightly (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this continues). For those more seasoned readers it's clear why Jude is introduced and that it plays into the reincarnation aspect of the series, though how Jude fits in is not clear until the connection is revealed. Sure, the love triangle thing is a big element of stories these days, and most of the times if gets to be a little heavy handed, but in this particular novel it really works.Though I'm not a fan of Roman's, primarily because I still don't really understand him as a character, I do like the possibility of him. There's something there, I'm not yet certain what it is and I'm hopeful that it's uncovered and not left to linger, but I think there may be a hint of something special. Yes, at the moment he's a little vanilla, as I noted above, but he's interesting enough to make me think there's some hope for him. *Fingers crossed*Here's what I didn't like so much:Damen's whining about karma and fate got under my skin, which is sad since he is really the one main character I find truly interesting in this series. At times I found myself saying "shut up already, we get it, you're a poor, tortured soul". I hate saying this, because I really didn't care for Twilight all that much, but Meyers handles this element of the book more effectively and in a less whiney fashion. Thankfully this drops off significantly near the middle of the book and Damen becomes less whiney and more insightful. Here's a point that irks me tremendously. It bugged me a bit in book one, slightly more in book two and now it's driving me bonkers. Miles and Haven are the most banal characters I have had the misfortune of discovering. That Ever continues to refer to these two as her "best friends" is absurd. If I had friends like this I would run, not walk, as fast and as far away from them as humanly possible. Miles sees nothing more than his most recent fixation, his remarks are snarky and trite, to the point where I sigh when he's in a scene. I find his actions repugnant, the way in which he dismisses things that he finds boring is rude and, quite frankly, annoying. He's nice when it suits him and jerky when it doesn't. Haven is vapid. Flighty and unscrupulous in the way she negotiates situations makes her beyond unpalatable as a character. These qualities are all fine, if they're explained and put into context. That simply doesn't happen. They're both self-absorbed, narcissists that have no known motivation for being such. I just don't get it. That Ms. Noel attempts to balance out Haven and Miles' utter disregard of their friend by making Ever feel guilty for harboring so many secrets does not ring true and is a disingenuous device.I find Ever's reaction to Sabine's dating Mr. Munoz, Ever's history teacher, a bit over the top. I mean really, who cares? It's the end of junior year, you probably won't have him again as a teacher and it's not like they're getting married, so why does it matter so much to you? I find it selfish and inconsiderate that she's so bothered by it. If her irritation stemmed from something real I could understand but by all accounts, Mr. Munoz seems to be a pretty decent guy and not out to hurt anyone. So what he knows you're psychic? He's kept that to himself so far, what's the big deal? I just never got why she was so fixated on this relationship.Lastly, Ever's failure to heed warnings is getting a little old. In book two she acts impulsively and severs her connection with Damen and in book three she still hasn't learned her lesson and binds herself to Roman. It's becoming slightly unbelievable. I'd like to see some evolution of this character. Something that's been missing in all three books. All things considered, I'm giving this novel four stars as it deserves it when looking at the entire body of work thus far. In the real world, would I give it a four star rating? No, probably not. But as it stands, it's the best book in the series and deserves to be rated higher than its predecessors. Now on to book four...

Daughter loves this series.
My daughter totally loves thus series. Nothing would hold her attention before this (ADD/ADHD) . We would go to book stores and buy books... She would get past a few pages and they would just sit on the shelf. I am so glad she has found something the finally enjoys reading. I will definitely be purchasing the rest of this series for her.

The story keeps getting juicier and juicier!
Ok, I know there's people out there that are discriminating this book because "the story is getting old" , or "it's just random crap that's trying to fit into the story". Well that's just not true. Think of this series as a long movie. It just takes awhile for it to get to the plot and climax. So just sit back, enjoy, and READ!

The ultimate love story continues...
The story of Ever and Damon continues in the third book of this amazing series and it just might be the best yet!!!Having being left on the cliffhanger that Ever was tricked by the evil Roman to add her blood to the mix to save Damon and now if she so much as swaps her DNA with him in any way he will die, we are brought to the aftermath. Damon and Ever trying to deal, of course Ever has not told him yet, but it is in the first few chapters that she does and then everything starts to unfold with the book centering around two themes: FATE and KARMA. Noel cleaverly weaves Fate and karma into the book first of all through Damon who much like our Mr.Cullen from Twilight has the blame yourself complex and is blaming himself for everything but like Edward, it is becuase of love, his fuel being Ever and his unwavering love for her though the past six hundred years. Self pity and concern that his karma has come back to haunt him and punish him for his past wrongdoings, he convinces himself that he is perhaps not Ever's fated one with the arrival of a handsome new guy called Jude. Jude is a little bit of a mystery. It is clear that Ever and Jude have something, a connection, but it is unclear whether he knows the full situation of his attraction to Ever... There is more to everything than it seems and I have yet to figure out if Jude is a good or bad guy or if indeed he is Ever's fated one rather than Damon.Jude was never really a baddie in this book, just posed a threat to Ever and Damon's relationship, and although I want to hate him as a character I can't seem to. It will be interesting to see where Noel takes him and Ever in the next book not too mention the real baddie Roman who i do hate and I am hoping that his Karma and fate catches up to his smarmy self soon.In this book, I was really on the side of Ever the whole way through. I was totally drawn into her sense of reality and I felt at times as if I was totally feeling the things she was. Full credit goes to Noel in her unwavering abilty to continually create Ever as a figure to relate to as well as one to emphathise with. It seems it is never ending for poor Ever, just as she thought she had Damon back, then this barrier is created by the evil Roman and then it just seems to go from bad to worse. I really felt at times that I wanted to slap Damon and make him shut up to listen to what Ever was saying and what she wanted, which was him, but he just wouldnt listen and I felt her pain and annoyance and loss but at the same time her complete love for him. At times she was lost and confused and scared about the possible threat that Jude may cause to their relationship and this is what drove her to, like the ending of the last book, panic and not think things through in her need to prove that Damon is the only one for her. In doing so she makes it worse, the ending of this book really had me and I could see that if I was in her situation I would have done the same. The ending opens up a whole new set of oppertunities for Noel to explore...I, personally am itching to find out what happens next and can not wait until the next in the series comes out which is Dark Flame and it is out on the 1st of October.Cassandra220689

interesting
Ce livre aborde plus le karma et developpe des notions très interressantes. Il permet de réfléchir eux chakras, à l'aura, au karma thèmes oubliés de la société occidentale. L'histoire est très prenante et j'avoue m'être attacher à jason. J'ai bcp aimé the house of the night aussi

Brilliant!!
I have loved every one of the Immortals books. The twists and turns get deeper as you get further into the stories and now waiting patiently for the next part to be released. The struggle for Ever and Damen to have a 'normal' relationship goes on and leaves you panting for more. If you have read the first book 'Evermore' then this book is a must as are all the subsequent ones that follow. Beautifully written by Alyson Noel and you just get lost in the tangle of love and lives.
