Arrived early - Very fast transferres from CF cards to computer
Arrived just in time, came back from a photo shoot of wildlife, opened up and placed my CF card into the device, plugged it into my USB 3.1 port, transferred a 7.5 GB of RAW images to my computer, took roughly a bit over a minutes. Then Transferred a 2.7 GB group of JPG's from the same card, it took about 10 seconds. This is extremely fast, and is the reason I bought the 3.1/3.0 Transcend, my computer has 2 USB 3.1 ports, these are the regular 3.0 ports, not the new true 3.1 ports. My computer and motherboard were built to support USB 3.1 speeds, and I have enabled 3.1 in my BIOS. This Transcend came with a true USB 3.0 connector on one end and 3.0 end that fits into your computer port. I'd say if your computer motherboard supports 3.1 speeds and as in my case, enable 3.1 speeds in my BIOS, you should realize speeds, better that USB 3.0. Even though I can tell the increased speed, I don't believe it is TRUE 3.1. I have the slots to install a True USB 3.1 PCI card, As more devices come online with 3.1 capability, I my add a USB 3.1 PCI card later. However, this is actually fast enough for now, saves time in processing my photos..

It works!
I purchased this for the new pc I built last year.. Its very fast and efficient. I noticed I can download my card at 80-100 mb/s which is pretty good compared to how I did before. So far so good.**UPDATE**This thing works great... I have no complaints.. However since technology has improved I'm in the market for something that can go even faster.

Fast and compact
Very good. Small. Very fast when connected to a USB 3.0 port.

Works on linux
Very light all plastic construction. I feel like if I dropped this thing it would break but what is more important is that it works and does exactly what it is supposed to do.I have used this on windows 7, fedora, ubuntu, elementry OS, and a few other linux distros and have never had a problem.

This one works at USB 3.0 for me
This is the second USB 3.1 Transcend card reader I've purchased. THIS ONE DOES write 4k data via a USB 3.0 plug at around 88-103 with a 128GB Sandisk 95MB/s SDXC I, U3, Class 10 card in a USB 3.0 socket. The older Transcend card reader, also listed as USB 3.0 and 3.1 would not write faster than about 43 and would not work in my either my USB 3.0 or my USB 3.1 sockets. The older one only would work in USB 2 sockets.I do not have any cards faster than the one described above, which has only one row of contacts. If I ever get a 2 row contact card, I'll update my review.

It's fest!
OK,This one actually get to my SD max speed of 95Mbs and keeps it all the way throughout the file transfer.Other ones was doing 20Mbs with the same SD cards. So its a huge speed/time jump for me.

Transcend card reader, audio and photo transfer
I bought this reader to play audio files (in the car) and transfer photos. It works great transferring photos from a Class 10 32GB SD card (90MB/sec). However, when initially used to play music, it stuttered a bit. After a couple false starts, it seems to work now. I notice that the card does not positively lock into the reader, requiring a push when ready to eject. Instead, it just rests 3/4 of the way in. It's probably best used on the desktop and not as a mobile device.
