Nice but too bright for us!
I really wanted to love this for my 2 year old, but it’s not for us. Since her two year sleep regression she has been waking around 5am and we have to go tell her it’s still bedtime. We hoped this would help her get back on her sleep schedule as she is not getting enough sleep and let her be more independent, which she loves. Set up was simple and I had it ready to use in about 10 minutes. It’s cute and easy for her to understand, but there are a few issues for us that may not be a problem for older children or kids that are less... sleep-averse.Main issues for us:1) I do not like having anything with a button battery in a toddler’s room due to the risk should she put it in her mouth. The locking mechanism on the battery isn’t as secure as I would like and as my daughter is persistent and also a bit rough it is possible she could get it out. I would prefer a screw like many toys have on battery chambers. If we were going to keep it I think some duct tape would make me feel more secure.2) The light is SO bright and not adjustable. I had to set the wake-up time 30 minutes later so the yellow light that comes on 30 minutes prior to wake-up would not wake her up early. The light is just too much for her as she’s used to a very dark room. Then the light is just on for 1.5 hours with no one in the room as she’s up as soon as the light goes on! I wish you could shut off the yellow light and have the green light in for a shorter time. In addition, I would like to see the light be adjustable. Picture shows how bright in her room.3) My daughter is very distracted by the adorable face that blinks. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing, so it might depend on the child. Some might watch and be soothed to sleep, others might be too engaged to settle down (our case). I should have guessed as we had a star projector that also amped her up...What I liked:1) Easy set up.2) Decent price.3) Functions as described.4) Thermometer is accurate.5) Cute!My opinion is that this would be great for an older child or one who is used to a night light. This would be a wonderful trainer for children starting preschool.

Basic ready to wake clock
We got this little guy yesterday, after giving our very spirited toddler the choice between this, a SkipHop Cloud and The Hatch. Overall, it's ok.Pros:Cute, our LO loves it. It's been named "Nano" and gets a hug in the morning. One of the cheaper "ok to wake" clocks out there.Does what it says it does, no more, no less. Has a nightlight, 3 sounds, and an alarm + "ready to wake feature" that turns from blue to yellow to green when it's ok to wake up in the morning.Cons:The sound is adjustable, but even on the lowest setting it's still way too loud for us at nighttime. We had to cover the speaker with a paper towel and some tape.More than 3 sounds would be great. Our tiny human prefers to sleep to music rather than white noise. The "piano piece" is not really a lullaby to sleep to, it's pretty upbeat, very short, and the only music option.Likewise, the light is WAY too bright. It does dim after bedtime, but it's still really bright.I wish the battery allowed the clock to work without being plugged in. It also doesn't come with a wall adapter for the USB cord, which is annoying. The instructions kinda suck, but the thing is reasonably intuitive with some poking.

Not the right fit
Overall, it's a cute clock and the face is nice. My daughter loved the different smiley faces. But we ended up returning it for a couple of reasons. One, the ring light is super bright. She loved having it on, but it would keep her up all night if we left it on. And it was too bright in the morning, so if she wasn't awake already, it would wake her. Also, the colors worked correctly the first morning, turning yellow 1/2 hour before wake time, but every morning thereafter it would just turn green 1/2 hour before wake time.I also wish there was a way to change the colors that are used, as it seems slightly pointless to have different colors for the ring light, but only the blue, yellow and green can be used for the functions. We also found that if she wanted to turn the purple light on before bedtime, it negated the blue light function completely and wouldn't turn off at the bedtime setting, it would go by the light timer setting instead. My final gripe is with the battery flashing light. I didn't feel the need to pull the tab out for the battery since we almost never lose power and I didn't want to waste a battery, but in doing so, the battery light flashes constantly and I couldn't find a way to turn it off. It's cute, just wasn't what we were hoping it would be.

Cute but not perfect
The clock is cute. I dislike two things about the clock. 1) the "yellow" light that comes on prior to the "green" wake up light looks GREEN. It's probably more of a "lime green", so to my child, it looks like it's time to get out of bed (15 or 30 mins early, I cannot remember). As a result, I just set the wake up time later, so the "lime green" acts as the "green" get out of bed time. 2) The "red" time to wake up from nap feature, only stays on for 5 minutes. Not a big deal, but would be nice if it stayed on longer. I'm considering returning this, to get one where the colors are better differentiated. The customer service did respond quickly saying that they are working out the "bugs" of the program and replacing display chip and LED lights. This will be available on the next model apparently.
