This is not only a „beasty“ Flash, this Nissin MG10: It's magic, baby!
Mei-O-Mei! This is the only one, the „Arnold Schwarzenegger Flash.“ As far as I know, there is not even one premium flash from any camera manufacturer, that has a GN of 80 with a 200mm zoom (47.5 GN with 35mm!). This Nissin MG 10 achieves this with two built-in quartz flash tubes in one flash head (the highest quality flash tubes, that are normally used in studio flashes). And yes, it has something of Stargate (the phazer) and Hollywood, when a part of the flash head extends forward with changing the zoom settings (refraiming a szene) on the lens.In order to be able to fully use all talents and abilities of the Nissin MG 10, you should connect it to the new Commander Nissin Air 10S (via Nissin's own wireless NAS. (not the earlier Nissin Air1)The Nissin MG 10 has a total output of 165 watts /s. that's twice as much as the strongest premium flashes from the camera manufacturers.(strongest flashes of those camera brands have a GN of 60 at 200mm Zoom and „only about 80-83 watts/s. Don’t mess with this „beasty“ Flash! The „stamina“ of the Nissin Air 10s is also enormously, as the Nissin MG10 can be fed either with 8 AA batteries (I use the black) Eneloop AA Pro or with 2 Li-ION batteries 26665 (without memory effect). Those 2 Li-ION will deliver enough energy for about 500 Flashes at full (manual) output (even more in automatic mode, depending from the szene)If the Nissin MG 10 is not used as a "bracket flash“ (it can be connected to the camera via a bracket), if it is completely unleashed, the Nissin MG10 can do another magic trick:You connect the remote shutter release plugin of the camera with the Nissin Commander Air 10S (the cable is supplied). You can now walk around in the room with the flash (multiple exposure) to enlighten step by step the whole szene, with the dedicated shutter release button at the Nissin MG10! Or you are taking macro pictures by illuminating your object by holding the flash and take pictures (releasing the shutter remotly with the flash button) with different flash positions. How crazy is that?If you are a "versatile photographers“, you love taking pictures but also like to do videos: You can safely leave the Nissin MG10 connected on the camera while filming. The Nissin MG10 has 2 really strong LED lights build in, to enlighten a portrait / a face while filming.By the way: I deliberately chose the Nissin MG10, it is by no means too heavy or unwieldy to connect to a "mirrorless camera" like my little Fujifilm X-e3. Both babies together have a perfect ballance and a acceptable weight. As you can see in one of the pictures I am using the Nissin MG10 "in concert" with my long time proven and "adored" (and never want to miss them too) Nissin i60A).Hasta la vista, baby…
