Really good quality plane. Really solid, weighty and sharp as anything. Great for some DIY use for plaining the width off some new wooden garage doors.

Got this to fix a swelling wooden gate - job done.
We have a gate which became impossible to close due to swelling in the wood. Before replacing this gate in the future we needed to take a decent amount of wood off the side. I have an electric sander but I needed to remove a good centimetre or so from a long chunk of wood.I grabbed this, configured the blade making sure I did my research to get the right sort of blade length. I went at the gate for a few minutes and that was it - sanding to finish it off and then a lick of waterproof paint.The blade extends/retracts so you can fully retract it before storing it, for safety.I can't fault this in any way - it was easy to setup and use. The blade arrived sharp enough to do the work I needed it for. Into the toolbox it goes.

Came with a blunt and chipped blade
The construction of the main tool is good. But it wouldnt cut anything and the blade was chipped. It seems some people get a sharp one and others have to go and buy a stone. I got a blunt one and I dont want to fix it myself. A new Plane should come sharp.

Used to straighten the edge on a door. Blade is sharp, needs some care to align the blade. But cuts well and leaves a nice surface.

Sharp out the box and simple to set up
Great all purpose plane and proper sharp straight out of the box. The picture is from my first attempt just getting used to it. Including set up I was getting waffer thin shavings in about 10mins which seems pretty good as I've never held a plane before this!Body is all metal and has a good weight to it, no worries about it bending or anything like that. The plastic handles are a good size too and easy to grip. Perfect first plane that'll probably outlast me.
