Part of our cruise collection, coronado is a sleek 3-eye shoe crafted from soft, lightweight leather with a worn and rugged finish—giving it a perfectly broken-in look and feel from day one.

Quality has really gone down, ankle pain
This pair was delivered this morning, my 3rd pair over the past 7+ years I think. Last pair lasted 3 years and I was hard on 'em. The quality is significantly down on this pair. The leather seems to be half the thickness of my last pair and it's noticeable when your foot flexes. The tread is different and seems to be 1/8" but the sole seems thicker. The heel does not rub which is better than my last pair BUT the sizing seems larger. I wear a men's US 11 and theirs a bit more room in the toe-box than my last pair. The thin leather bothers me and I fear that they won't last as long. All this being said, they feel good (although a little loose with my usual heavy hiking socks) and I walked on ice this morning and the soles grip very well. So I am keeping them. By the way, these laces are junk and I will replace them quick.01-28-2019 update I want to like these but I don't. I gave it a week of trying to wear these. The 1st day I wore them for 2 hours and they seemed ok. The second time they started biting in on the ankles a lot. I put on some bandades to weather it out but after trying a few hours a day on and off for a week, I won't wear these again. Still cannot wear them without ankles digging in and that's with hiking socks and bandades on. Been a long time since I've had a pair of shoes cause this much pain. These may need a month to break in but no way I'm going to suffer thru a month of pain to find out fr a pair of shoes.

Great shoe it you work 12hour shifts*
This is my third pair of the Coronado Oxford and I love the shoe. The first pair I put through the wringer and decided to buy the same color again along with black. While this is a great shoe it's not perfect and it might not be for everyone. I'm sure there are other shoes that might better suit your needs. As for me, I required a shoe that was sturdy and comfortable without being bulky for 12/+ hours. Runner shoes were out of the picture since they would rip easily and a nail could easily penetrate the bottom of the sole and I didn't need boots most of the time. This shoe has the comfy soles Docs are known for! While that sole can be a blessing and an inconvenience depending on the surface you're working on. If the floor surface is smooth and dusty or you had dust on the bottoms of your shoes, you will slide. Problem number two is also a blessing and an inconvenience and that is that the shoe is made out of leather. Wearing a shoe that long in the summertime means your feet don't breathe very well. This shoe is also very roomy if anyone is wondering.

falls apart right away
These shoes are junk. My son has to wear brown doc martens for school so I got these thinking the removable insole would be more comfortable like sneakers. He says it's hard as a rock. The stitching came out the second day he wore them. I keep gluing them back together because I don't want to buy new shoes every week. He says the soles have fallen off of his friends' shoes. They are so stiff and uncomfortable the middle school boys take them off to run around and play sports at lunch. This led to a student's foot being impaled by a stick, a pool of blood on the sidewalk, and a trip to the emergency room. Just wear something else, really.

Destroys Your Achilles, Regretable Purchase
Like others, I had really bad rubbing against my achilles with these shoes. Without thick socks, a bandaid, or some other way to protect your achilles, you'll be limping by the end of the day - walking in all sorts of strange ways in an attempt to take the pressure off. Also like others, I thought that after I wore them in the pain might go away. So far, no luck.On top of that, my experience is that they run large. I'm usually a size 14 and have to size down to 13 to keep the heel from slipping around. Even still, when I walk, I can see them bow out a bit in a weird way - the fit is very strange overall. It's a shame because they look great standing still, somewhere between casual and dressy - easy to dress up or down.

Not Quite How I Remembered Them
These Doc's are now made in China. The quality is similar, but not quite as good as they used to be when they were made in the UK. The look and feel of the shoe is just like the old ones, minus the brown and yellow shoe laces. Like all Dr. Martens, they take some time to break in. I think over time they'll feel close to the shoes I remembered from several years back, but I need to break them in. The fit is a bit large, but for those of you used to this brand that's nothing new. They just run a little big. Overall these shoes seems fine. If you miss your old Doc's, these will do just fine.

skip them
These are made for Doc Marten's in China and are not of the quality I've expected from Doc Marten's for many years. The leather is thinner than other DM's and doesn't hold its shape as well. It's cut off sharp around the edges with nothing to protect your Achilles' tendon as you break in the stiff leather. It's a rough break in and you'll have broken skin for it. The leather's not dyed black around the top edges. The soles are thinner than other DMs as well, such that you can feel each stone or bump under foot. Good part is they look alright. But they're not as nice as a shoe as you'd expect from Doc Marten's or as comfortable.

Doctor Martens shoes are not quite as good as the old ones
I have had a pair of Doctor Martens shoes before. They were a similar style to these but had more of a shiny finish, these Coronado Wyoming Black Derbys have more of a mat finish. I had my old ones for over 10 years and purchased them from a shop in Leeds for £75. A decade later and they are a tenner more so can't grumble too much about the price. My old ones finally gave up the ghost and wore through on the soles which is quite an achievement when you consider quite how think the soles actually are. I have been told that I have a "heavy foot" and that is the reason I wear shoes so quickly. I think that is a polite way of saying I need to shed a few pounds.I have compared these new ones closely to my old pair and other than the obvious mat/ shiny finish there are a few other changes. The soles are virtually identical and it is this "airware" concept that make them light weight and comfortable. However, the uppers, and I am talking about the "tongue" here in particular, is no where near as thick on this new pair than on my old pair. The linings are clearly leather in both but the leather does not feel quite as good on the new pair. Most Doctor Martens are now manufactured in the far east and the brand has been owned by global private equity firm Permira since 2013. I suspect that there may have been a few changes to production and materials to improve returns to the private equity fund since the takeover as, whilst still great quality, there are not quite as good as the old ones. This is still an iconic brand though and in the words of Alexei Sayle"thanks to Doctor MartensEverybody moves to one beatthanks to Doctor Martensthere will be dancing in the street"

Inconsistent quality control
Good price compared to shops. I bought two colours. Black version was made of more supple leather than the brown! They don't come pre-treated with wax - why not? If you don't treat them they mark VERY easily, so this is essential.Wearing in will be quicker than more traditional DM's. Comfy inner sole. I'm learning to love them. Sizing is spot on.

Not a good shoe
Unable to wear due to poor stitching on back of heel support. Tried everything to soften the leather and make it more malleable but to no avail. Walk a few yards and my heel is on fire.Pretty much £100 in the bin.

Not very comfortable
I am not very happy with the shoes. The leather is very tough and keeps digging into my ankles when I walk. This can be painful and I hardly ever wear them
