So impressed!
I never thought I could rave about a Sonic Toothbrush. I was always using a cheap sonic brush that I figured was enough, but after it started to fail I decided to look into something more modern and I'm so glad I did! After some Amazon searching and reading user reviews, this sonic toothbrush by Brio seemed to be the best price/features compared to competitors. I was immediately impressed with the quality of the package which was elegant, professional and minimalist. It made me eager to brush my teeth! The charging platform is great and the toothbrush easily yet securely holds and the charging radius seems exceptional, I see the blue light come on before it even seats in the holder.Obviously, the brushing quality is what we are looking at this for and let me just say: WOW. As a background, I've always had good oral care (into my 20s anyway...) I brush twice a day for 1-2 minutes, floss most nights, use a tongue scraper and mouthwash. I'm also into using natural and organic products so I don't skimp on what's being used to clean my mouth. Regardless, using my old toothbrush I would still get that minor plaque feel on my teeth that I could never get off until my bi-annual dental visit. Since switching to this sonic brush, within DAYS I was noticing a breakup of this plaque and my teeth would literally feel as smooth as after a dental cleaning! I was completely blown away with how much the quality of my sonic brush could affect how clean my teeth were getting. I use the "Normal" setting as I don't have sensitive teeth but with the three possible settings anyone will find one to their liking. My only gripe with this brush is I am not a fan of the 30 second timers that shut off the brush for a second to indicate where you are at in the 2 minute timer. I would have preferred a small beep or something that didn't interfere directly with the brushing.Regardless, I LOVE this Sonic brush and YES, the kind you are using matters tremendously. I highly recommend you go with the Brio SmartClean for the sake of maintaining optimal dental hygiene and who doesn't like to impress their dentist? Lastly, Brio seems like a great, honest company and that helped me decide on which brush to go with that much more.

I received head for this review
It's true — Brio sent me a couple replacement heads for my toothbrush in exchange for my honest review. So, here it is. For most of my life, I've used your standard motionless toothbrush (well, until you move it with your hand anyway). Those did the job, albeit maybe not with professional results. A few years ago I upgraded to a twenty dollar or so Oral B rechargeable, which was most definitely an upgrade. As someone who hastily brushes, having the extra effort put in by the motor seemed to make a huge difference. It recently died on me, so it was time to upgrade. I found a lot of similar looking brushes to the Brio here on Amazon, and ended up settling on this one. Looks nice. Positive reviews didn't all seem farmed out. The price seemed okay (the people paying $200+ for a toothbrush are crazy). Seemed to have some attention to detail with packaging, design, and marketing, which I appreciate. I can't get over how a bunch of these look essentially like the same product with different branding/coloring though. Guessing there's some toothbrush manufacturer in China churning these out for ten different brands.Anyway, the packaging and presentation was very well done, very Applesque. The toothbrush itself seems to work great, and holds a charge for quite a while as others have noted. I don't think I've charged it a second time yet. This thing vibrates about 20x faster than the old cheap one I had way back when, and the head is very small in comparison as well. It took a bit to get used to it and not knock it against my teeth, which is jarring considering it makes your jaw buzz. You just don't need to move it as much, or as quickly — it does most of the work itself. It pauses every 30 seconds to help let you know when it's time to move on to the next quadrant. Overall, it seems to do the job very well and as I get used to it, the more I like it. I don't know how it compares to others above the ~20 price range my old one was in, but I'll stick with this one til it dies. This review was no way influenced by receiving head, except that I probably wouldn't have bothered to write one otherwise.

Serious quality and longevity problems make this one not worth it.
Initially I felt good about supporting a smaller but well reviewed seller and was pleased with the early performance of the brush. However, serious quality and longevity problems made this one ultimately not worth it and a regrettable purchase. The first brush head did last the longest, but after a while that brush head actually broke apart in my mouth while I was brushing my teeth! Since it is absolutely an unpleasant experience to have to suddenly spit out bits of plastic and bristles amid panic that you may accidentally swallow or choke on any of the pieces, this was not an experience that I will soon forget!Since I spent so much on this however (I'm sorry but I don't think $68 is in anyway a cheap toothbrush), I hoped that it was just one bad brush head and reluctantly tried again with a brand new head. After only a few weeks this time, some plastic part in the interior of the new brush head broke off so that it would no longer stay on the toothbrush while in use without vibrating off. Seriously?! For $68 they can't figure out a plastic and/ or glue that's as good as a manual toothbrush from the store that only costs a few dollars, or even one of the free ones you get from the dentist? Those brushes have all outlasted this one!And now the base has stopped charging the brush altogether. I hate to say it, but now I completely regret this purchase and wish I had gone with a more well-known brand after all. For the amount of money I spent on this, I expected much higher quality and longevity.
