Ornate Censer with 12 Bells

I couldn't be happier with it. It is extremely well made and reminds me of the older thuribles I used as an altar boy back in the early 80's. The coal chamber/insert is large enough for a single coal wafer that burns for approximately 45-minutes to an hour, depending on the brand you use. I think you could possibly squeeze a 2nd one in there, though it would be a tight fit and I'm not sure why you'd want to do that anyway (you're likely not purchasing this to fill a cathedral-sized structure with incense). The chains are high quality, though I'm keeping my eye on where they connect to the main body (based on some other reviews). They haven't been a problem for the 5-6 weeks I've owned it. The bells sound like reindeer "jingle" bells at Christmastime, which I think is beautiful.As you can see from the photos, I recommend using a heat-resistant pad if you're not setting it on an otherwise heat-resistant surface. You can mitigate this by placing sand in the lower chamber and periodically mixing the ash in the inner chamber with that sand. That will absorb some of the heat. Just make sure it's actual sand and not commercial sand. The commercial stuff often contains chemicals that will outgas when heated.My home oratory is just under 200 sq. ft. If I use a standard "spoon" of incense from an incense boat (I think that's around a teaspoon?), I'll asphyxiate myself. That's how well this works. To mitigate the extra smoke, I also purchased a portable air purifier with a true HEPA filter. Now, I have the best of both worlds, as I can use the thurible for ritual work and not smoke my family out of the house.The bottom line is a highly recommend this thurible!

I cannot say enough about how happy and pleased I am with this censer incense burner!!! Super great quality and really good size. Read so many good reviews I felt very confident it was what I’ve been looking for. With Our church being closed due to Covid last year, I created a space in my home dedicated to my beautiful icons and holy trinkets to give me an Orthodox Church feel. This wall unfortunately only displays a very small collection of icons compared to the opposite wall, but the censor barely fit on any of my other shelving. This censor is such a great value and so beautiful as I hope my photos illustrate, and hopefully capture the beautiful workmanship as well.

This is a beautiful thurible that does a wonderful job for the home and would even work well in a smaller church. I was actually a little surprised by how decent a size it is. The only issue I have had is that one of the rings was not well attached which lead to a collapse of the thurible with the coal flying out and burning a hole in my carpet ... so make sure that you check to make sure that each ring is sealed. Otherwise this is a great product and perfect for home use. Also arrived very quickly.

It's a nice censer but it arrived broken. We needed it for a Sunday service and I had to pay my neighbor to solder it. Now it's better than new

Yes, there are higher quality thuribles out there, but for the price you cannot complain about the quality.

The piece that attached to the lid arrived broken. Poorly designed top piece that is barely attached with what looks like solder.I ordered a replacement, and the replacement arrived broken in the same way.Do not buy this.

This is one of my weirder impulse purchases. I had had a couple whiskies, and the idea of buying a thurible on Amazon was funny enough to me that I went for it. I have a modest collection of liturgical paraphernalia that I have acquired via eBay/at church auctions/etc., and I figured this would fit right in. For what this costs, it seems pretty decent to me, even good. If you look at it up close you can tell it's not, like, some 17th century Russian treasure, but from a few feet away, it looks the part. I have, rather to my long-suffering wife's simultaneous chagrin and amusement, wandered around the house using this thing for its intended purpose, and I can confirm that it is perfectly capable of bringing the some of the signature sights, sounds and smells of the Orthodox liturgy to your living room, kitchen, bathroom, closets, etc. If you need a thurible (and who doesn't?) but you've been putting it off because your thurible budget precludes the acquisition of priceless antiquities from far-flung monasteries, this one is perfectly serviceable.Note that the dirt/tarnish which may be evident in the photos is a result of use; it arrived in pristine shape. One possible point of concern is that it looks difficult to polish well, and I don't know about you, but there certainly aren't enough hours in my day to keep all of my thuribles in top form. This does not, however, invalidate my positive assessment.

Compré este incensario para regalarlo pero noté algo que no me agradó mucho, el incensario no tiene una cruz, sino un águila bicéfala imperial, no estoy seguro de si esto sea correcto para su uso en las iglesias ortodoxas pero no me esperaba esto e independientemente de si me agrada o no es un detalle importante a destacar para decidir si uno lo quiere o no.
