HOLY BATMAN! competition for a too???
I'm rating this toy out of the box so it isn't Too tested just yet and will adjust rating soon.Out of the box...HOLY BATMAN OF BIRD TOYS! It's GARGANTUAN! My U2 eyes every new toy as a personal challenge, and shes eye balling her next conquest from her perch at this moment, waiting for her first opportu ity to knaw the thing into a heap of splinters leaving only the bare chains dangling..some of which she's even bitten right thru as if it were for emphasis. Most toys, including the fairly large Beakasourus I usually spring for when ordering the 25lb. Bags of food from here, typically in a day, or less. The longest any toy lasted to date has been about 36 hours. I'm convinced theres a smug sarcastic expression of satisfaction on her bad little face when she finishes off what she did not invite into her nest/cage. This thing has LOTS to chew thru and large cow bell...hopefully stainless steel, to distract her...Im hoping this monster is a little more competition than the typical chew toys. The reusable chains are hooked to a nice thick hunk of harder wood base im guessing probably bamboo....lets see what she can do w a nice hunk of that hardwood HA BIRD HA maybe this is the one she will have to work for. 8)THIS THUNG IS HEAVEY, REALLY HEAVY when you think about a bird toy being suspended from the cage bar, usually from a top bar for this type of toy. If the clasp or chain should happen to break under the weight, and fall on a bird, theres really no doubt that serious injury or worse would result, so I am definitly going to employ a safegaurd w extra clamping and chain just to be safe and suggest anyone who buys this item do the same considering the weight to prevent a tragic disaster.Stay tuned!UPDATE: IVE PROBABLY PURCHASED A DOZEN OF THESE NOW LOL AND TO MY PLEASURE ...IT DOES TEND TO LAST ...DRUM ROLL ....WELL OVER A FULL WEEK W MY LITTLE WOODCHIPPER...NOT THAT LONG IN REALITY BUT CERTAINLY NOT FULLY DESTROYED BY DAYS END.DEF RECCOMEND AND WILL BUY AGAIN. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOTICED THE GRADUAL PRICE INCREASE OVER TIME...SIGH.

I'm sure he will just love chewing the daylights out of this thing once he ...
The mother of chew toys, seriously! It's still sitting on my dining room table, close to the cage, so my cockatoo gets used to it. When he plays outside his cage, I put it below his cage on the floor, then hung it outside his cage when he plays outside his cage. He watches it carefully to make sure it doesn't come to get him! He is still overwhelmed by the size of this thing, and I think it has something to do with the big piece of bamboo. He was absolutely overwhelmed by the size of this toy, he was terrified of it for a long time. He is finally figuring out it's not going to "get him," and when he is totally used to it I will put it in his cage. I'm sure he will just love chewing the daylights out of this thing once he adjusts to it!

works for now..
UPDATE:this toy lasts about two - three weeks for macaw. But this is still the best I could find. They could used harder wood, but my macaw loves itShe destroy three as of now and working on the fourth...original review:this is the biggest toy I ever found for my macaw. But she is able to destroy 20% in three days. Complain is that some wood pieces are too thin and she cracks them in one bite. Overall it is not a bad toy at least because it has a lot of wood pieces and she will have to spend some time to destroy it all. stay tuned...

Biggest I could find for Green Winged Macaws
I've already purchased 3 of these and my Green Wings and B&G love these. They last longer than others I've purchased, but now they've raised the price by 10 bucks. I'm gonna try and find something else.

Great for chewers
My Umbrella Cockatoo can go through a large wood toy in one day. This lasted almost a week. Well worth the price if you have a serious chewer. It is really big. If your bird is in a smallish cage, it won't work.

Good for wood loving birds
Birds love it. As macaw's owners know, they chew through things worse than termites. It lasted about 4 days in one of my macaw's cage. I attach other pieces of old toys to the chains and rebuild which gives me more milage.

best so far
the other 30 and 40 dollar toys I bought for my M2 lasted a day if lucky some not even close to that, the bamboo log even made his jaw give up for once, it lasted a week and that's a record for my overzealous beak from hades, lol
