Newhouse Lighting 3 Watt LED Plastic/Steel Gooseneck Desk Lamp (NHGS-LED-BLK)

Very attractive and LED bulbs puts out a lot of light. It works perfectly for a trade show lighting of display. For desktop, not this is a tall light but I would highly recommend it. Plus it has 3 levels of light brightness. The easy touch button makes turning the light on/off or changing the intensity fore easy. It is more like a soft touch indention on the base of the lamp than an actual toggle button. I like the asthetics of this on off dimming pad better than an actual toggle button. It has a heavy base so it won't get knocked over easily or tip over. I have tried 3 different desk lamps over the last 5 years. This is the best of all of them.

I also love this lamp. I use it to illuminate a business phone screen that is in a dark corner, and the glare is not too bad. Lamp is tall enough to shine light downwards without having a bulb visible to me. Flex neck stays where I put it (amazing) and lamp solid and feels high quality.I put a white hole reinforcer (like you use on 3-hole binder paper) over the button that is difficult to see. I expected it to look awful, but the circle and white/black contrast actually look pretty good. The interior hole still lets the button operate by touch, but I can now easily find it. (If I could figure out how to upload a photo, I would)

The gooseneck is so long, and it emerges from the base so high (perhaps 9-10 inches from desk surface) that it was a challenge to adapt the lamp to my needs, which are to light up my computer keyboard. After trying various positions (including bending the gooseneck into a spiral), I was able to get it to shine on the keyboard properly. It is nice and bright, especially on the highest of the three settings. My only other comment is that the button (indentation in the plastic base) that allows me to cycle through off-low-medium-high-off is subtle (a very slight indentation that's the same color as the base and hard to see). I addressed this by outlining it with white tape.

Great lamp. I just received it today (got it from Amazon Warehouse Deals, 'like new' -not quite- a little scuffed on the black plastic base.) for $20 and I am using it to illuminate the keyboard on a laptop on a table (wouldn't that make it a 'tabletop'?) It is plenty (yow, too much!) bright at the high level. The first level is fine with a room light on. The goose-neck is covered in a silicone sleeve which make it sleek with a matte finish. The base and lens hood are shiny plastic. The light is a bit yellowish at the first level, but not to awfully. The lens for the LEDs is translucent and doesn't protrude beyond the hood so it doesn't glare in your eyes which I read was a problem with the Ikea Jansjo. The base is heavy so it's not very tippy. The back of the base is way heavier than the front which is odd. It can't be the transformer because that is on the plug. Not sure why it isn't centered for better balance, it tips forward easier than back, but it's not a big problem. The switch is hard to see in the dark, but if you have the neck bent down on that side it's not hard to find, just slide your finger straight down or put a little piece of white tape on the switch maybe. The 'switch' is heat or proximity sensitive because it will actually operate without touching it (you have to be REALLY close to it though.) If you want to move it around, grab it by the low or high part of the base, otherwise you will keep hitting the switch. The thin cord is about 6 feet long, which is pretty good, but I'll bet some would prefer a couple more feet.The LED unit is not replaceable but it's supposed to last 10,000 years or something like that (joking). I don't know why the white version is so much cheaper than the black or red version. Popularity? Let's see how long it will last. I like it so far.

Perfect desk light! This doesn't take up a lot of room, but sure does throw a lot of light. The lower settings are nice for reading. This is so much better than the low light battery operated lights I've had in the past. The only negative is that it has an operating life of only a few years. I hate to throw things away, but since there is no way to replace the bulb in this, I will have to. Not very nice to make us do that. Even so, I think it's a pretty good value for the time you get, and I'll get another when this burns out.

My husband was sure he wouldn't like anything..er...this but he was very happy. His office has no ceiling light and most desk lights aren't bright enough and he had been using a table lamp. Big and unattractive! This moves easily to focus where you want it, has a wicked bright light output AND can be turned off and on with a touch. Very, very low footprint on the desk, leaving you room to put your items out still. Being able to bend it down and around for a better look at your laptop is great. I will get one for my office when we set it up.

Didn't plug in. Arrived on the 21st after ordering on July 7th - this was supposed to be a prime delivery item. No outer box, the label was slapped on the manufacturers box and shipped. It arrived damaged with gouges in it. The manufacturer's box was damaged and taped together with clear packing tape, and there was a hole in the bottom ofthe box.

I tend to be very picky and particular when it comes to any of my A/V and or electronics of any type. This LED desktop light w/ USB charger from Newhouse was all I hoped it would be; solid, excellent build quality and great flexibility. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is this for these 2 reasons (although both are as advertised), it has a 3 step “touch” brightness control. Personally I would have preferred a full variable adjustment by holding that same “touch control”and the power cord good be a little longer. Again, it is exactly as promised and a very well made and preforming desk light.

If i can give a negative i will. When we received this lamp and took it out of the box we noticed it doesn't look new. There are many small scratch around the bottom of the lamp. The most disappointed was, the lamp would not turn on, at all! It simply just not working! We requested a refund and a week later, our refund request was cancelled by the seller for no reason! We are now still in the process of try to get a refund.

After less than one years use, 1/2 per day, the light stopped working. A lot of money spend on a light with a short life span.
